Scope of Work:
The Falcon Group was retained to provide engineering consulting services for structural repairs associated with the façade restoration and painting project. The exhaust fan areas in both the North and South Towers were identified as requiring structural repair, and services included condition assessment, repair design, construction documents, and construction-phase inspections to support the restoration of the affected structural elements.
Work Included:
- System assessment: Evaluation of the exhaust fan areas in both towers to determine the extent of deterioration affecting concrete beams, precast joists, and surrendering concrete slabs.
- Repair Design & Construction Documents: Preparation of structural repair drawings and technical specifications addressing damaged and deteriorated structural elements, including concrete beams, precast joists, slabs, reinforcing steel, and localized wall repair requirements.
- Construction Inspections: Performance of construction-phase inspections throughout the repair process to verify general conformance with the repair documents, approved procedures, and project requirements.
Role: Mechanical Engineer and Construction Consultant for the repair program. Provided condition assessment services, developed repair drawings and specifications, coordinated repair requirements involving concrete and post-tension structural components, and performed construction-phase inspections to support successful implementation of the work.
