Alexei Tajzler, R.A., QEWI, is the Director of Building Envelope in our New York office. He brings over 20 years of experience to the team, guiding facade restoration projects from inception through close-out. He reviews construction documentation thoroughly and proposes alternative solutions when hidden conditions arise. Skilled in project planning, he leverages his team’s strengths to successfully meet project requirements. Alexei has been the Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) for over 125 buildings in New York City and all told has been involved in over 200 FISP/Local Law 11 projects.
As the Director of Building Envelope in New York, Alexei provides technical guidance and expertise to his team throughout the design and construction phases. He maintains a thorough understanding of relevant regulations, codes, and standards to ensure compliance in all design and construction processes. He oversees and assigns staff to conduct forensic inspections, applying technical expertise to assess project conditions and identify potential issues or deficiencies. He also directs a wide range of testing activities, including material testing, structural analysis, and performance evaluations, ensuring accurate data collection for proper interpretation of results. He supervises the development and review of technical specifications, drawings, and construction documents, and assigns staff to produce comprehensive field reports detailing observations, measurements, and findings from site visits and inspections. He oversees and contributes to the preparation of expert reports that provide in-depth analysis, conclusions, and recommendations based on project requirements and findings. Alexei effectively participates in mediations and provides expert testimony through depositions, applying his knowledge and professional opinions.
